Introduction
This lunar new year festival held by Nagasaki's
Chinese community, large lanterns are displayed
on street corners and in the shopping arcades.
Venture through Chinatown or along the river
in the evening to see some of the 15,000+
lanterns displayed in the city. Many of the
lanternds are shaped like animals or figures
from Chinese mythology.
In the events...
・Lighting ceremony on 3rd Feb, at 6pm
・Emperor parade on Saturday
・Mazu parade on Sunday
・Chinese acrobatic show is on everyday
・Many food stand shop for square simmered pork Manju
・And many more events will be held in the city.

There is a huge lantern represents the corresponding year's
zodiac animal. 2011 features rabbits!
Access from hostel AKARI:
*Walk straight the one street behind of the hostel for 15mins.
*By tram/streetcar, take a tram from Kokaido-mae st. Tram No5 towards
Ishibashi st will take you to Tsuki-machi st in 4minutes. 2 mins walk from
the tram station.
