AKARI's wish for peace, Thousand cranes project
AKARI thousand cranes project started in the Winter of 2008.
It is a simple project, as AKARI's world travellers who visited Nagasaki each made
one origami crane. Travellers, regardless of nationality, race, religion, or one's position,
have left their wish for peace in the shape of origami cranes.
The cranes totaled 775 from last Summer. It did not reach a thousand, but the number of
cranes does not matter for each one's wish.
Today, on this day of Nagasaki Peace Day, we have carried the cranes filled with travellers'
wishes to the Peace park. We will then send a message by e-mail to the travellers who are
back at home in their usual lives. We wish that these e-mails will bring back each one's
warm feeling in Nagasaki and will be linked to the others.
We have donated these cranes to the peace park today,
praying for the souls of the victims of the atomic bomb and with the travellers wish for world peace.

AKARI's wish for peace 千羽鶴プロジェクト
2008年冬に始まった折り鶴のプロジェクト。
長崎を訪れる各国からの旅人達が鶴を折る、たったそれだけのプロジェクトです。
国籍、人種、宗教・・・立場は異なりますが、長崎で感じた「何か」を折り鶴という形に残してくれました。
去年の夏から数えて合計約700羽。千羽の鶴には届きませんでしたが、その数は一人一人の思いに関係はありません。
今日8月9日、折り鶴達は長崎平和公園へ運ばれました。
そして帰国し日常の生活に戻った旅人達にもメールという形で報告されます。 この旅人達への報告メールが、
それぞれの暖かい気持ちに連鎖し、またその先へ繋がっていくことを願っています。
この日に亡くなった多くの命のご冥福と今なお苦しむ多くの人々の平安を願い、
旅人達の折り鶴を平和祈念式典の行われる長崎平和公園に寄贈致します。
